Overview

JOB SUMMARY 

In addition to his/her routine clinical duties as a staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), the Regional Manager is responsible for oversight of facility Chief CRNAs, Assistant Chief CRNAs, and staff CRNAs at his/her specified LifeLinc clinical sites concerning the knowledge and performance of clinical anesthesia delivery, budgeting and other administrative duties. The Regional Manager will report directly to the VP of Anesthesia Services and support all endeavors in managing the practice. The Regional Manager will be expected to coordinate quality improvement initiatives with LifeLinc’s Director of Quality and ensure all reporting and forms are properly completed and delivered to the LifeLinc corporate office.

Responsibilities

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES 

 

  • Reports directly to the VP of Anesthesia Services concerning the clinical practice operations and performance.  
  • Develops measurable objectives to promote growth and efficiency. 
  • Is responsible for networking with peers, promoting LifeLinc job opportunities and facilitating in hiring at clinical locationsas well as participation in recruitment events such as trade shows, state and national conferences, and CRNA school job fairs and events
  • Ensures all paperwork is complete, accurate and in compliance with LifeLinc policies for billing and reimbursement, and is also responsible for timely documentation corrections
  • Assists in education of proper anesthesia documentation related to CPT coding and quality measures. i.e. QCDR. 
  • Coordinates scheduling and PTO to ensure adequate staffing according to the services agreements of assigned locations
  • Assists in hiring of Chief CRNAs and is responsible for their development by providing management and expertise to the Chiefs in management of the practice
  • Conducts training and completes quarterly reviews with Chief CRNAs
  • Works with the corporate finance department in maintaining practice budgets. 
  • Participates in facility and LifeLinc’s committees as needed.
  • Obtains and reviews reports on quality and compliance and addresses any open concerns and ensures compliance with the facility’s quality metrics.
  • Reviews facility quality performance with leadership and facilitates and identifies quality performance and prioritization of improvement opportunities.  
  • Attends meetings at clinical locations and the LifeLinc corporate office as needed.
  • Provides clinical coverage as an FTE.
  • Responsible for a minimum of one administrative site visit per month for each assigned location
  • Ensures timecards and other payroll related duties are completed by the onsite CRNA leader and/or completes duties as necessary
  • Implements and maintains the clinical provider schedule in the Paycom system
  • Communicates and engages with the OR Director, Surgical Board Runner, and Preop Nursing Director to maximize workflow and matriculation of patients among all involved departments. 
  • Participates in administrative decision making and recommends and collaborates with key stakeholders to approve policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Engages regularly with facility leaders and administration
  • Remains cognizant of rules and regulation as they pertain to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and remains compliant at a local, state, and federal level.

  • Works with coworkers to obtain required information on a timely basis and to solve outstanding issues, as appropriate

  • Represents LifeLinc by communicating with outside entities, the public, the government, and other external stakeholders
  • Attend meetings as needed

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and react accordingly to the situation

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; 10 key by touch.

  • Ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and hospital policy and procedure regarding confidentiality
  •  Complies with all information security practices
  •  Has knowledge of and adheres to all compliance regulations, policies and procedures

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Education and experience equivalent to: 

The Regional Manager shall be a Graduate of an approved school of nursing and a graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. The Regional Manager will have successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor's certification. Must have at least 5 years of clinical experience as a provider of clinical anesthesia and 2 years of clinical management experience.
